Involvement & Experiences

Athens Free Clinic (AFC) AFC is a clinic supported by the UGA/AUG medical partnership, offering no-cost medical care to those in the Clarke county school district, regardless of insurance status. Starting Fall 2025, I joined the team as a biweekly Spanish interpreter at Pinewoods.

Summer 2025: UGA En España Valencia

The summer before my senior year, I decided to study abroad in Spain. The program’s home base was in Valencia, living with students from the University of Valencia for 6-weeks. As part of our cultural immersion, we traveled to Madrid, Barcelona, and the historical city of Albarracin. During the program, we attended two Spanish classes daily with professors from the University of Valencia and explored museums, cultural practices, and historical buildings. A main influence that drove me to study abroad was the chance to study Spanish and improve my fluency, helping me become an accessible healthcare provider for Hispanic/Latinx communities.

Oasis Catolico Tutoring Through my service-learning health promotion course, I completed 20 service hours tutoring underserved K-5 students. Further, I continued volunteering for the next two semesters completing 60 total volunteer hours.

Empower In & Out

Empower In & Out (EIO) EIO is a student organization I founded at UGA in Fall of 2025. After working with the Pinewoods families and communities, I developed a strong interest in their community and wanted to make a difference. The organization is dedicated to supporting children and families in Pinewoods through fundraisers supporting the tutoring program, engagement events, percentage nights, and more. No experience has been as rewarding in my four years at the University of Georgia.
